A highly accomplished, commercially-focused Head of Business and Finance Director, Ibrahim brings a wealth of transferable skills from a progressive and accelerated career spanning over 15 years. His expertise is drawn from extensive work across Agro-industrial, Commodity, Manufacturing, and Financial Services sectors, including Investment Banking, Commercial Banks, and Microfinance, in both Africa and Asia. Renowned for leading multi-disciplined Business & Finance Support functions, Ibrahim has a proven track record of developing individuals and teams, alongside implementing strategic/commercial business plans with the necessary financial controls and accounting infrastructures. These contributions have solidified his role as a commercial partner to key business teams and leaders.
Holding a Master’s degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from HEC Paris, France, and a Master’s degree in Finance and Banking from the University of Buea, Cameroon — where he also obtained his BSc in the same field — Ibrahim’s educational background is extensive. In 2021, he earned a Doctorate degree in Development Finance from the Swiss School of Business and Management, Geneva. His doctoral research at SSBM Geneva, focusing on financial inclusion, sustainable finance, digital payments, agricultural sustainability, impact finance, and financial management, underscores his dedication to leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship. A Chartered Accountant (FIPA) and a Management Accountant (CMA), he is also a full member of the Chartered Institute of Management Consultants USA.
Early in his career, Ibrahim was a part-time Lecturer in Banking, Financial Management, Investment, and Accounting at the Higher Institute of Management Studies, Buea, Cameroon; the University Institute of the Gulf of Guinea, Douala; and Trustech Higher Institute of Technology, where he specialized in teaching professional Bachelor’s degree students and supervising undergraduate theses. Additionally, Ibrahim has supervised a number of Doctorate students from SSBM Geneva in areas such as Finance, Climate Action, Education, etc. In the past, Ibrahim has also offered guest lectures to KDG University in Belgium on the Cocoa supply chain and to SSBM Geneva on research methodology and writing with integrity.
